We open with a hunter/taxidermist in his store, he hears a noise and is killed by a person with a snake tongue. Sam and Dean hear about the death and head to the town to check it out, they find out the only witness is the guy's dog. They stumble across an animal advocate group, who tagged the dead guys store and head to talk to the founders. The founders tell them that they were at the store last night tagging, and heard a hissing sound and we're attacked, sprayed with venom in the eyes. Later that night at a shelter, a guy, who is bribed, lets snake guy in and the snake guy eats the cats and then the guy. The next day, Sam and Dean arrive at the shelter and finds the hunters dog there, and that the killer wears a hat.
They adopt the dog and call Kevin to find if they can talk to the dog and they can with a spell. Dean does the spell and starts talking to the dog, but it doesn't seem to work. However it does work and the dog, Colonel, starts communicating with him, unfortunately the spell works too well and makes Dean act like a dog. Sam calls Kevin and finds out that there are side effects, which will make him exhibit signs of being a dog, Kevin also tells them that he doesn't know when it will wear off. They head to the shelter and Dean starts asking the dogs what happened. Dean finally gets an answer that the guy was carrying a sack that leads them to a restaurant, but before they leave Dean releases all the dogs. At the restaurant they find out that the guy, Leo, has a bunch of different animal parts and when they are mixed with the right spells he can obtain the animals power for awhile.
They hear a noise and find some workers preparing a meal for Leo, who is holding a dinner party, they tell them to get out and split up. Sam heads to the back and runs into Leo, who scratches his neck, Ezekiel heals it, but Sam passes out. Dean then heads to the back and ends up getting captured, and with his dog senses he realizes why Leo is doing this. Turns out Leo has stage 4 cancer and is trying to beat it with the animal powers, Dean manages to escape and we find out that all the dogs from the shelter are there and they attack and kill Leo. Dean takes Colonel to live with the founders of the animal advocate group and the side effects finally wear off. Outside Sam questions how he was able to heal himself, but Dean doesn't tell him.

I absolutely loved this episode! It was so funny, I thought at first Gabriel, who I love, might be involved, but he wasn't. Next week looks great, it looks like Cas is back and he is working at a store!
